Obituary from newspaper clipping:

Patrick HEAPHY, Stricken at Dinner,

Dies Soon After.

Death entered the home of Patrick HEAPHY, of 436 (editor is unsure of address numbers) Main street, Tuesday, when it was least expected and took the head of the family, who apparently was in the best of health a moment before he was stricken.  The family were seated at the dinner table. Mr. HEAPHY was about to reply to some remark when he was seen to become ill.  His family gathered about him and a physician was sent for.

Mr. HEAPHY became unconscious and the physician, Dr. WILMOT, was unable to restore him.  It was 12:30 when he was stricken and death came at 7:30 in the evening.  The stroke was apoplexy and the paralysis that followed was complete.

Mr. HEAPHY was not far from 60 years of age.  A wife and eleven children, all of whom live in Ansonia or immediate vicinity, survive him.  There are four sons and seven daughters, Dennis, William, Michael, and David HEAPHY, and Mrs. Maurice LANE, Mrs. HOWARD, Mrs. PHELAN, Mrs. John CONNERS, and the Misses Nellie, Margaret and Delia.  Undertaker FLANAVAN is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
